This is a revival of the 2018 production that ran at the Cockpit Theatre.

All-star cast for “The Distance You Have Come” revival at the West End’s Apollo Theatre!

In a song cycle of his most acclaimed works, sung by some of the best voices in the west end, award winning composer and lyricist Scott Alan leads us through a year in the intertwined lives of six people facing the joy and heartache of the human experience, as they each search for their own version of happiness - which is, after all, what it’s all about.

This phenomenal cast features Andy Coxon (West Side Story, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical); Alice Fearn (Come From Away, Wicked); Adrian Hansel (Starlight Express, Hairspray); Emma Hatton (Evita, Wicked); Dean John- Wilson (Kind and I, Aladdin) and Alexia Khadime (Prince of Egypt, Wicked).

Orchestrations are by Scott Hayes (Rent; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) who will also be the Musical Director, Kirk Jameson joins as Director (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; Marry Me a Little; Madagascar) with Lighting Design by Andrew Ellis (Eugenius, Flashdance): Original Direction was by Scott Alan and original Production Design by Simon Daw.

The production is produced by Sevans Productions and Krystal Lee.

Every day we each make a series of decisions, some big and some small but all that shape our future. We are all on a journey of self-discovery, juggling life, love and loss along the way. We all have to choose the steps we take and will each meet people who will change our path forever.

Quote from the writer, Scott Alan:

“When the producers for “The Distance You Have Come” approached me about getting the cast and creatives back together for a reunion in the West End, my only hesitation was knowing I couldn’t travel to direct this two night only event. Thankfully we have entrusted the talent of Kirk Jameson to bring the story to life. Joined by the returning talents of Scott Hayes (Musical Director/ Orchestrator) and Andrew Ellis (Lighting), I can’t imagine a more beautiful night out at the theatre. One of the things I love so much about this show is the group of people who joined together to create it’s original inception. Since our final performance, we have continued to stay in touch via zoom reunions and weekly Whatsapp conversations. This group of people have truly become a family. A family that I love and adore and trust my music and work to in my absence.

This pandemic has put a strain on all of us in and out of the theatre profession, both financially and emotionally. My hope is that we can give our audience two hours to clear their minds of the current state of the world around us. Nothing would make me prouder as a writer than to know my work”
